The World Hates You
Made in 48 hours for the Ludum Dare 24 competition– theme: “evolution”. Accordingly, this game uses an evolutionary algorithm to generate the hardest platformer levels possible. As you play, the game reports back your progress over the internet to a server which breeds the hardest levels together and sends the results out to future players.
The game does not have a win condition. The purpose of this game is not to be won. The purpose of this game is to get progressively better at killing you.

I wish this game didn’t give me levels I’ve already beaten during a current playthrough.

The final judging just came back, and this did WAY better than any of my previous Ludum Dare entries! I actually got 7th place in the overall competition:
#2 for Innovation (4.38/5)
#3 for Theme (4.43/5)
#7 for Overall (4.13/5)
#51 for Fun (3.63/5)
#170 for Audio (3.00/5)
#372 for Graphics (2.93/5)

When I downloaded it onto my mac it had some sort of error, it said the server wouldn’t respond and hand no proper error handling?

Could you please put the server back up or make some way of running it locally? I really wanted to check this out, but it’s impossible to “play” now.
